About This Dog for Adoption

Kong's ideal home

Kong is a handsome 2 year old Rottweiler cross Doberman who came into our care with little information. He can live with children who are secondary school aged and older who are used to bigger dogs. He would like to be the only pet in the home but can have calm doggy friends when out walking who doesn't want too much interaction as he is underconfident around them. Kong would need to have his own, private garden where he can burn off some energy and enjoy time with his new family. He enjoys food and treats which will come in handy when doing training with him, such as house training and loose lead walking as can be strong on lead. Once he has settled into his home, leaving hours can be built up once settled.

Could you be Kong's perfect match?

Kong is a lovely boy who has been friendly with everyone he has met at the centre. He enjoys playing with toys, especially balls which he sometimes doesn't like to give them up so would like his family to carry on his training around swapping toys which he has been doing great at here at the centre. Kong likes to keep his mind busy so going for walks and exploring new places is one way he enjoys doing that. He is a sweet boy who would love a family to help him settle into home life.

Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Doberman Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Doberman.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Doberman Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
