About This Dog for Adoption
Kovu's ideal home
Kovu would flourish in an adult-only household or with children aged 10 and older who can appreciate and respect his need for personal space.
He can get upset with unfamiliar dogs in his proximity and, therefore, is looking for a home where he can be the only pet and will need access to quiet walking locations with minimal exposure to unfamiliar dogs so he can feel comfortable and at ease during his outings.
A private garden is a must! This space will allow him to enjoy safe outdoor time where he can explore and unwind without worry.
Initially, Kovu will need minimal leaving hours, but with your patience and support, this can gradually increase once he’s settled into his new environment.
We are looking for a home for Kovu that doesn't intend to put him in kennels for holiday, etc, as he becomes really stressed in a kennel environment.
An engaging home actively involved in training will be perfect for Kovu, as he does have ongoing training that he will need to continue in his new home.
If you think you could provide Kovu with the loving, understanding home he needs, please apply online today.
Could you be Kovu's perfect match?
Kovu is a five-year-old Dobermann, who is in our care through our Homestay scheme, which means he remains in his current home whilst we start his adoption journey.
He is a sensitive and loyal dog who does best in calm, predictable environments with people who understand his needs. He’s not suited to busy households, but with the right care, he’ll be a loving and devoted companion.
Kovu likes exploring whilst out on walks and in the garden. He also likes spending time with his favourite people and napping on soft furnishings. He is very food-motivated and enjoys food-based enrichment.
Kouv dislikes sharing items that he finds valuable, like toys. And isn't a fan of unfamiliar dogs in close proximity.
